Propostion

Gun sellers need to have stricter background checks (Espo). A background check is when the seller brings up the buyer’s records to see if he or she is legible for a gun or not. If the person is not legible, they cannot buy a gun. Background checks should be performed on every buyer (Espo). Since they got out of juvy, they might want revenge on some people that put them in there (Espo). Then the shooting begins. If they’re a student that isn’t legible, there is not a risk for a school shooting. The background checks should be as accurate as possible (Beef). Juvenile delinquents should be restricted from buying guns (Espo).
People with mental illness should be restricted to buy guns (Beef). The law should be changed so that it is impossible for someone with mental illnesses to purchase a gun (Beef). Since he or she already knows that they aren’t suppose to buy it. Seung Hui Cho, the one who started the Virginia Tech. massacre, was able buy not just one gun, he actually he bought several legally from a gun dealer. The seller saw the mental illness on Seung Hui Cho’s background check and ignored it and sold the gun to him. He had enough mental illness that should have sent him to jail for purchasing a gun. People with mental illness should be restricted to buy guns (Beef).
Government should shut down companies that distribute guns to low gun control areas. Gun makers and distributors deliberately oversupply guns to low gun control areas (Taking). Knowing that the guns can be resold to anyone illegally, they do it anyways. Student can get their hand on the illegal guns easily (Taking). Once the guns are in the student’s hands, there’s a possibility that he or she is going to school and shoot someone that may have bullied them. Those gun manufacturers can be sued in California if they market and sell weapons with disregard for public safety (Mintz). You can make money off of the manufacturers if you buy one of their guns illegally and sue them for marketing them (Taking). This doesn’t change the fact that guns are dangerous.
Colleges and Universities should not allow their student to have concealed handguns on campus (Roberts). At Colleges and Universities throughout the country, students are allowed have concealed handguns on campus (Roberts). This is not acceptable, having guns in school will cause many problems throughout the whole campus. The safety of innocent students will always be at risk (Roberts). The student with the concealed gun will threaten other students and will get his or her way. The causes of shootings are immaturity, alienation, stress, use of drugs and alcohol (Beef). Theses causes not just happen in Colleges and Universities, but everywhere. Instead of having a fist fight, they’ll have a shootout instead (Roberts). That sounds fun. Students with the concealed gun can shoot anyone or anything at any given moment. Carrying a gun around campus will have a much bigger chance of a shootout than not carrying around a gun on campus (Roberts).
