Grammer Post: Their, There, and They're

I sometimes get mixed up with Their, There, and They're. I use the wrong one which will make the sentence all funky. I found a rule Here. There refers to a place, Their is possessive, and They're is a substitute for they are.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

Paul Blart: Mall Cop deserves a Razzie award because the story wasn't that good. It has a basic story of a guy that tries to save a girl from a burglary and he does it. Then he gets with the girl that he saves. The movie's plot is too predictable.

The movie wasn't that funny. The movie trailer exaggerates the funniness of the movie, it only showed the funniest parts of the movie, which isn't that much. It's a stupid funny movie. It was funny for the first 15 minutes, but then it got old and stupid.

I didn't know most of the cast members in the movie. All I knew was the guy playing Paul Blart even though I bearly know him. The girl that he was trying to save was beautiful. I like that. All the cast were not popular actors, I don't recognize anyone of them.

Grammer Post: Dashes

I'm not sure when to use dashes. I just use parenthesis instead. I get confused sometimes. Dashes breaks the rhythm or interrupts the meaning of a sentence, setting off information with greater emphasis than another punctuation mark could supply. Here is more information.

3 Elements

Each mini team of Pine vVew High School Yearbook must submit 6 DPS per dead line. A "DPS" is a double page spread. Which is two pages when you open the book.

Picas, are little boxes on the page that you are making. It pretty much a grid. Each side needs to have the same number picas between the pictures.

The black book is where they keep track of the people that have been used in the yearbook already. Each person must be in the book three times. This keeps track of them.

Grammer Post: Double Negative

A double negative is the use of two negatives in a single clause. Double negative can get very confusing. It cancels out what I really want to say, which is not the way I want the sentence to turn out. So I try to avoid using double negatives. This a good rule to follow: The best approach to the double negative construction, as with other language issues, is to consider the context as you decide how you can most effectively communicate what you wish to say.

Grammer Post: Commas

I sometimes don't know when to put in a comma. I can't decide if I need a comma or not. It gets confusing. So I read the sentence and pause where it sounds rights. But it sometimes doesn't work.
This is a rule that helps me: Use commas to separate independent clauses when they are joined by any of these seven coordinating conjunctions: and, but, for, or, nor, so, yet.
You can find out more here.

Ethnographic Idea

I am thinking about doing my Ethnographic paper on Pineview High School Yearbook. It seems interesting of what they need to do. Some questions I have are:
What kind of things for you people do?
Does everyone work on each page?
What happens if you don't make the deadline on time?
How many are in the yearbook staff?
Is it fun/hard?

Grammer Post: Quotations

Sometimes quotations confuses me. I can't decide whether or not I should use it. If somebody says one sentence, I'm not sure whether or not to use quotations. So I just decide to not to use it then. If there are two people talking, I will most likely to use it.

Enclose all direct quotations, meaning use of another person's exact phrasing, whether written or spoken, with quotation marks. This is a way of both correctly citing the quotation and using proper grammar to include it in your writing. Here is where I go it.
