"Calling Home" is a little story about a 13 year old girl goes Christmas shopping with her grandmother, brother, and her sister. She shops in the General Store where they sell mostly knick-knacks and finds herself a Snoopy button. She decides to buy it. She didn't want to wait in line since the line was too long, so she decides to steal it. When she got out the store, she gets caught. Then she gets arrested. Her fear was not the thought of going to jail, but how her mother was going to react. She told her mom what happened on the phone. Then her parents took her home. Her mother told her what she did was wrong. And the police was wrong also, the fact that they arrested a 13 year old girl.
"An American Childhood" is about her football experience and how its a driving sports. The story starts out in his pass events. She and a group of friend were playing in the snow. They were tho wing snowballs at cars. So they threw a snowball at a black Buick and nails it in the driver's windshield. The driver stopped the car, got out, and chased them down. The driver didn't give up chasing them down, he had will power. This is like football. When he caught him, he said "You stupid kids."
Framing gives me a better idea of the theme and events of the story.
A well written story should have good description about things. It gives the reader a better understanding of things. Maybe a certain person or and object, or even a situation that they're in. The reader can picture it in their head and expand their imagination.
